Beautiful Chinese 18th / 19th Century Blue & White Ginger Jar with Lid
A superb Chinese porcelain ginger jar and original domed cover, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. Elegantly decorated in fine underglaze blue, the jar features the classic “precious objects” pattern, skilfully painted with excellent balance and detail, reflecting the refined craftsmanship of the period.
The form is well-proportioned and pleasing to the eye, with confident brushwork and a rich, vibrant cobalt tone. To the base is a neatly written four-character Kangxi mark, applied in underglaze blue, in keeping with traditional practice of the time.
This attractive piece would make a wonderful addition to any collection of Chinese ceramics or serve as a striking decorative object on its own.
